Lectionary Worship Aids
Series VII, Cycle C
Object:
Gospel Lesson: John 13:31-35
Theme: Just So You're Sure
Call To Worship (Psalm 148:1-6)
Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord from the heavens; praise him in the heights!
Praise him, all his angels; praise him, all his host!
Praise him, sun and moon; praise him, all you shining stars!
Praise him, you highest heavens, and you waters above the heavens!
Let them praise the name of the Lord, for he commanded and they were created.
He established them forever and ever; he fixed their bounds, which cannot be passed.
Collect
We thank you, God of love, for the instruction you gave your disciples, admonishing them -- and us -- to love as you have loved. May we do so in worship today and in our life of worship every day. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Jesus gave us a command, to love one another as he loved us. By this the world is to recognize us as Christians. Oh, Lord, how often do we claim to be Christians, yet fail to demonstrate this love with one another? No more. We shall strive to be your people, so that by the manner of our living others may come to know your love as well. Amen.
Hymns
They'll Know We Are Christians By Our Love
Will You Let Me Be Your Servant?
I Love Thy Kingdom, Lord
