A Call To Worship
Worship Aids, Lectionary Year B
Call To Worship (based on Genesis 9:8-17 and 1 Peter 3:18-22)
One: We see your bow in the clouds, Lord of the seasons.
All: We see the signs of your faithfulness, Lord, in all seasons.
One: We know that Christ suffered for sins once for all --
All: the righteous for the unrighteous, in order to bring us to God.
One: What was true in the time of Noah, and in the time of the disciples of Jesus, is true now.
All: God's love for all is constant. We worship the God who seeks us and saves us.
Unison Prayer (based on Genesis 9:8-17 and 1 Peter 3:18-22)
Gracious Lord, when we see the rainbow in the sky, we are reminded of your covenant with all of us, believer and unbeliever, woman and man, humanity and all of creation. Your faithfulness abides in the midst of our unfaithfulness. Whether the sun is shining or is obscured by clouds, whether the rain is falling, or the waters of life are withheld, we remember with you your everlasting covenant with every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth. Thank you for your love. Abide with us in our worship today. Amen.
Offering Prayer
Lord, we feel secure in your love, and in your covenant with us as your people. Our offerings are given as a pledge of our intent to live in your word and in your promises, today and every day. Amen.
Unison Scriptural Response
Lead me in your truth, Lord. Tune my ears to the reading of your word. Set my eyes upon the rainbow. Fix my heart upon your promise. Fit my soul for repentance. Aim my life towards glory. Amen.
Children's Benediction
Lead me in your truth, and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation!
