Service of Installation
(Name of Installing Minister)
L: Let us rise in prayer.
Prayer: Blessed Heavenly Father, we gather today to install one you have called to serve this congregation. We ask that your Spirit continue its work as you join the gifts of this pastor and those in this congregation. Help them to work in harmony with your will serving you in the church and community bearing witness to the love of Christ.
C: Amen. Unite us Holy Spirit.
L: We are all called to discipleship in Jesus Christ our Lord. Living out that call, we are joined to one another in faith. Let us confess that faith in the words of the Apostles' Creed.
C: I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
