Temptation is a lot of different things to different folks.
To some folks it is alcohol. To others it is smokes.
Some folks are tempted most by all the food that they can eat.
While other folks are tempted only by a taste that's sweet.

Temptation can be to possess what other people own.
While some folks have been tempted to control the world alone.
For some it's show and pageantry. To others it is gold.
And some are tempted most by someone's secret they've been told.

Some people's great temptation
Is the one that's labelled "sex."
While some, it seems are tempted by the risk of broken necks.
My father used to claim the worst temptation that he knew
Was doing some small evil for the good that it would do.

Whatever the temptation is that leads you far astray,
You know that Christ identifies with where you are today.
For he was tempted thoroughly while in the wilderness.
He knows what you are going through when you are under stress.

So you need never hesitate to ask him for his aid.
And with him there beside you, you need never be afraid.
