THE WONDER OF WORDS: BOOK 2
ONE-HUNDRED MORE WORDS AND PHRASES SHAPING HOW CHRISTIANS THINK AND LIVE
"Many believers think that to have recourse to science in treating illness is to reject faith," wrote Dr. Paul Tournier. To illustrate this attitude, Dr. Tournier told about a fellow doctor who prescribed a sleeping pill for a patient. The patient told Dr. Tournier: "I take it and it does me good. I am more relaxed, and less nervous, and I work better; and yet I must confess that I never take it without a twinge of conscience. It is as if to use an artificial method were a sign of lack of faith in God."
