Facing the Future with Hope
Cycle B Gospel Text Sermons for Advent, Christmas, and Epiphany
As a young man Benjamin Franklin sought to attain moral perfection; consequently, he made a list of twelve virtues he thought would make up the good life. He devoted a page to each of these traits in a little book. Every page was ruled with seven lines, one for every day of the week. His plan was to give special attention to one of these twelve virtues at a time for a whole week, also making note of daily failures. He hoped thereby to train himself in a better way of life.
