For many people, their religious faith is closely tied to music. There is something about music that gives it the power to communicate and touch us in a multitude of ways. Perhaps it is closer than any other human expression in disclosing the relationship between the God of mystery and humankind. Music leads us to that essential encounter with God that enables us to move beyond ourselves. Lost in the sphere of music, though we may not be able to explain it, we sense something greater than ourselves.
