even for him. He had hit two homers, was four-for-four at the
plate and had knocked in five runs. He had done everything just
right.
A cub reporter ran into the locker room and said, "Oh Mr.
Williams, you did everything today but walk on water."
Whereupon, Ted Williams said to the locker room boy, "Fill the
shower! Today's the day!"
