Call To Worship
Leader: As the prophet Nathan said to King David, I say to you, "Go, do all that you have in mind; for the Lord is with you."
People: Do you mean to carry out my life hope, to become grounded, to become planted in my own place?
Leader: I mean, have plans and dare to pursue them because God is with you.
All: We give thanks to God who knows our hopes and is with us.
Collect
We remember, O God, that while we have hopes in mind, your presence and your promises to humankind encourage and sustain us. We are grateful. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
When we move on in our lives, we sometimes think, dear God, that we have left you behind as we have left behind everything else. Everything in our lives has changed and yet you remain constant. Let us not become so busy, so tired, or so preoccupied that we fail to make a place for you in our lives. Strengthen our resolve to go ahead with what we have in mind because you still are with us. Through the Spirit of God. Amen.

Compassionate Creator, we would be makers of friendship rather than hostility. We would be with Christ as those who unite. We would be with Christ as peacemakers. In his name. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Dear God, help us to become aware of the walls that divide us from each other at levels of family, city, county, state, country, and nation. Strengthen our determination to carry your promises into all levels of society. Amen.

Call To Worship
Leader: "Come away to a deserted place all by yourselves and rest a while."
People: We do so much coming and going that we have no leisure even to eat.
Leader: "Come away to a deserted place all by yourselves and rest a while."
People: We give and give and give until nothing is left of us to give.
Leader: "Come away to a deserted place all by yourselves and rest a while."
Collect
Just the thought of a time-out, a pause and respite, brings us comfort, O God. Let us find during this service of worship a time to pause from ceaseless reaching out and a time to find renewal for the spirit. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Well, God, sometimes we feel drained from caring about others, from giving when there seems no more energy for loving, and from coming up with more ideas and new plans for accomplishing the goals we have set. Teach us not to berate ourselves for compassion exhaustion. Show us how to recognize and schedule spaces for self-care. Show us how to nourish our whole being. Show us how to gain the rest that rejuvenates the spirit and from which mental vitality springs. Amen.
46B Hymns
"Who Trusts In God A Strong Abode" Tune: BISHOPGARTH or WAS MEIN GOTT WILL
"Jesus' Hands Were Kind Hands" Tune: AU CLAIR DE LA LUNE
"Immortal Love, Forever Full" Tune: SERENITY
