Worship
Lectionary Worship Aids
Series VI, Cycle A
Object:
Theme: Reconciliation
Call To Worship
How very good and pleasant it is when kindred live together in unity! Come, let us worship the head of the human family, the God and Father of us all!
Invocation
Heavenly Father, as we have gathered in this holy place in the presence of each other and of the Risen Lord, we ask that your light will bring understanding in every mind; that your grace will bring peace in every heart; and that your vision for saving our troubled world will ignite every imagination. Amen.
Confession
Father Almighty, as we stand in the presence of our brothers and sisters in Christ we are ashamed, for we have often failed to recognize them as your children. We cringe at the thought of how we have treated them. We have sold them into slavery, we have abused them, we have discriminated against them. We come now seeking their forgiveness and yours, O God, as we ask your help in bringing about reconciliation within the family of God. Amen.
Offertory Prayer
Lord, we offer our gifts in gratitude for the love of Christ. Bless both the gifts and the givers, and grant that both may be used effectively in serving you. Amen.
Hymns
"Depth Of Mercy"
"This Is A Day Of New Beginnings"
"Help Us Accept Each Other"
