Series VII, Cycle C
Object:
Gospel Lesson: Luke 14:1, 7-14
Theme: First, Last, And Always
Call To Worship
God has put into our hands the blessings of this fellowship, and into our care the needs of this world. Let us come together in praise and thanksgiving for God's love and trust in us.
Collect
Lord, we thank you for the blessings of your Holy Word, and for the inspiration of your Holy Spirit. We come to receive, not that we should hold these blessings within ourselves, but that we might go forth into the world to share this good news. Even as we sit here, we think of excuses, great God, of why others will have to carry this Word. We pray that you will sweep away our fears and send us forward, renewed and restored, ready to be your witnessing people. These things we pray, trusting in you. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
These gifts we bring, precious Lord, are what we feel we can spare. These gifts we bring, gracious Lord, were yours from the beginning, on loan to us. These gifts we bring, mighty Lord, should accomplish great things, with your aid. Instill in us your Spirit, which is ever giving to us. Amen.
Hymns
What Is This Place?
A Wonderful Savior Is Jesus My Lord
I Know That My Redeemer Lives
