Okay, now, don't go gettin' all uptight: I really don't mean to imply that when Fred and Susie exit stage left, they go and have sex.
My intent here is to show the spiritual extremes (asceticism and license) for what they are: misapprehensions of the gospel, to which we attach ourselves all too easily. Jesus calls us to live a life of balance, knowing that we are sanctified while realizing that Jesus (not we ourselves) is the source of our sanctification.
