Leader: The Lord our God calls us to discipleship.
People: Our God is faithful; we will follow him wherever he leads us.
Leader: We need never fear, for God will always be with us to guide and comfort us.
People: We trust the God of our salvation. We come to worship him and renew our commitment to him.
Invocation
Creating and Redeeming God, you have called us together in this place to be your people. We give you thanks for the opportunity once again to be caring and supporting members of your body. Grant us the will to work for our fellow beings, serving them joyfully through the guidance of your Spirit, and guided by the example of your service. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
Confession
We acknowledge, Lord, that we are often nonchalant in our worship. Our minds wander, our hymns are listless, our prayers are just words, we are corrupted by jealousies, and distracted by trivia. Forgive us, Lord, for our coldness and inattention, then direct our minds to your Word and warm our hearts by your Spirit. Amen.
Offertory Prayer
O Lord, receive these gifts with our gratitude and with our prayers. We give them with gratitude because we have received so much; we give them with our prayers because we know that only if your power accompanies them will they achieve their desired result. Amen.
