Series VII, Cycle C
Object:
First Lesson: Isaiah 62:1-5
Theme: An Arranged Marriage
Call To Worship (based on Isaiah 62:1)
For Zion's sake let us not keep silent, and for Jerusalem's sake let us not rest, until her vindication shines out like the dawn, and her salvation like a burning torch.
CollectCollect
There will come a time, Lord Jesus, when at your name every knee will bow. We bow our knees today, and proclaim before a lost world that you mean to find us. Our vindication is near. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession/b>
Lord Jesus, we are your bride, yet we shy away from your images which call us to a closer relationship. We fear intimacy and draw back, seeking to protect some bit of our fallen nature, something we mistake for our identity, but which is a falling away from you. Come and claim us, Lord. Amen.
