About the middle of the nineteenth century, a noted English traveler, Lord Sandys, was served a fine sauce in a restaurant in Bombay, India. He took the recipe back to England and asked Lea and Perrins, famous manufacturer of condiments, to duplicate it.
They did their best, but when Lord Sandys tasted it, it was inferior. After several tries, Lea and Perrins banished the sauce to a barrel in their cellar and forgot it.
Some months later, someone else found the sauce and tasted it. By then, the flavor was marvelous, and Worcestershire Sauce was born! As they said, "Time has worked a miracle!"
The hardest thing for most of us to do is to let time work a miracle. It happens time after time.
