Pastoral Prayers For All Seasons
Sometimes, dear Lord, we clearly see you in the behavior of others. We see you in the parent who sleeps on the floor by a child's sick bed, on the chance the child may need something during the night. We see you in a friend, who rescued us when we were being hit and kicked by hoodlums, and weren't you the one who gave a kidney, that life may be extended to another? Further, you were the parent who, in court, stepped in front of his son, to request that the sentence be placed on his head.
