Call To Worship
Look out! Another impossible is falling. Hey, watch it! You're standing in the shadow and the shadow's getting bigger by the second. Here it comes! The proud mocked the Lord, and the Lord is answering. Give in to God or get out of the way!
Collect (Psalm 146)
(Unison) Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, O my soul! I will praise the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praises to my God all my life long. Do not put your trust in princes, in mortals, in whom there is no help. When their breath departs, they return to the earth; on that very day their plans perish. Happy are those whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord their God, who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them; who keeps faith forever; who executes justice for the oppressed; who gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets the prisoners free; the Lord opens the eyes of the blind. The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down; the Lord loves the righteous. The Lord watches over the strangers; he upholds the orphan and the widow, but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin. The Lord will reign forever, your God, O Zion, for all generations. Praise the Lord! Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
True God, when we identify too strongly with David we need you to remind us that more often than not we are Goliath, bragging, brash, sure of our righteousness, and heading for a fall. Convict us, yes, but catch us as well. We pledge our hearts to your service in humility and hope. Amen.

Call To Worship (Isaiah 49:8-10)
Thus says the Lord: In a time of favor I have answered you, on a day of salvation I have helped you; I have kept you and given you as a covenant to the people, to establish the land, to apportion the desolate heritages; saying to the prisoners, "Come out," to those who are in darkness, "Show yourselves." They shall feed along the ways, on all the bare heights shall be their pasture; they shall not hunger or thirst, neither scorching wind nor sun shall strike them down, for he who has pity on them will lead them, and by springs of water will guide them.
Collect
When we are weak, Almighty God, then is your strength most obvious. When we are scorned then may you be praised by all. We present ourselves ready to endure what must come if we are truly your witnesses in this world. May all draw closer. May this present world pass away. With trust we pray to you. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Lord we confess our readiness, our unworthiness, our fears, our hopes, our successes and failures, the whole of who we are, and pray that you will strengthen us for the work of your kingdom that your name may be glorified throughout the world. Amen.

Call To Worship
Peace.
(silence)
Be still.
Collect (based on Mark 4:40)
After you calmed the storm, Lord of life, the disciples asked, "Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?" We know. We know you. You are Savior, Prince of Peace, the Anointed One, the Messiah, King, our Lord, and our God! We come to praise you, adore you, worship you, serve you. In your mighty name we pray this day. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Lord Jesus, what is taking you so long? The storms are raging all around us. Our lives are sinking under the weight of our materialism, our distractions, our false gods, our nationalism, our discontent, our bickering, our ill will. Do you not care that we are perishing? Save us, Lord Jesus! Now! Save us! Amen.
