Call To Worship
Let whoever is without sin stand in judgment. Come, all the rest of us, as we contemplate the sins of the world, which we all share deeply, but not too deeply for God's forgiveness.
Collect
Open our eyes, Lord, not to our opportunities for sin, but to the possibilities for service in your name. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession (Psalm 14)
One:
Fools say in their hearts, "There is no God." They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds; there is no one who does good.
All:
The Lord looks down from heaven on humankind to see if there are any who are wise, who seek after God.
Women:
They have all gone astray, they are all alike perverse; there is no one who does good, no, not one.
Men:
Have they no knowledge, all the evildoers who eat up my people as they eat bread, and do not call upon the Lord?
Younger:
There they shall be in great terror, for God is with the company of the righteous.
Older:
You would confound the plans of the poor, but the Lord is their refuge.
All:
O that deliverance for Israel would come from Zion! When the Lord restores the fortunes of his people, Jacob will rejoice; Israel will be glad. Amen.
Hymns
Blessed Lord, Take My Hand
Come, Thou Fount Of Every Blessing

Call To Worship (Psalm 145:14-19)
One:
The Lord upholds all who are falling, and raises up all who are bowed down.
All:
The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food in due season.
Women:
You open your hand, satisfying the desire of every living thing.
Men:
The Lord is just in all his ways, and kind in all his doings.
Younger:
The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.
Older:
He fulfills the desire of all who fear him; he also hears their cry, and saves them.
Collect (based on Ephesians 3:14-15)
Father, we bow our knees before you, from whom every family in heaven and on earth takes its name. The glory of this great salvation is yours! Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Lord, your love is greater than the skies, broader than the earth, deeper than the seas. Challenge us to surpass the shallowness of our commitment as we seek to mirror your love in our service to the world. Amen.
Hymns
Open The Wells
Oh Love, How Deep, How Broad
Praise Him! Praise Him! Jesus Our Blessed Redeemer

Call To Worship (Psalm 145:10-14)
One:
All your works shall give thanks to you, O Lord, and all your faithful shall bless you.
All:
They shall speak of the glory of your kingdom, and tell of your power,
One:
to make known to all people your mighty deeds, and the glorious splendor of your kingdom.
All:
Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures throughout all generations. The Lord is faithful in all his words, and gracious in all his deeds.
Collect
There is bread enough, Lord, to feed the world time and times over. There are storms enough to rock even the steadiest among us to the core. You are God enough to feed our souls and calm our hearts. We praise you this day for your power and love. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Heavenly Father, we empty our pockets, holding back only enough to sustain us today. And tomorrow. And a year from now. Also the things we treasure. Or we might need someday. Or have forgotten about, stuffed away in boxes or in shelves. Or because we might need extras. Or because we might fit in those clothes again some day. What are our resources among so many? Six month's wages will not buy enough bread for everyone who is hungry to get even a little. What will we do, Father? What will we do?
Hymns
Praise To The Lord, The Almighty
Stand By Me
We Give Thee But Thine Own
