INSPIRATIONAL ANECDOTES
There was an elderly lady in the little hamlet where I grew up who lived just across the back yard from our house. Her name was Henrietta Gill, longtime school teacher, living library of information relevant to our kind, and acknowledged sage of Craighead County. Mrs. Gill had concluded that our community would never experience a severe storm; something about our being located along the edge of Crowley's Ridge on one side, and the prevailing atmospheric conditions of the Delta on the other side, as I recall.
