Collect
O God, we have gathered to worship you and hear your commands and laws for our living. We know that in keeping them we will find joy and happiness, and so we pray that you will write them in our hearts. Send your Holy Spirit upon us that we may faithfully do your will and keep your laws and commands. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Lord, we know that it is difficult for us to see our own errors, and so we pray that you will deliver us from hidden faults. Keep us safe from willful sins, and do not let them rule over us. We pray in Jesus' name. Amen.
Offertory Prayer
Accept these gifts, Heavenly Father, as each of us tries to do our part in the work of your kingdom. Amen.

Call To Worship
Leader: Come, let us worship God our Creator.
People: He has given each of us a body with many parts.
Leader: Together we are the Church, the Body of Christ.
People: We all have special functions, but we are one Body.
All: Praise be to God, our Creator!
Collect
Lord, we come together to worship you. Keep us ever mindful that we are your Body on earth. May there be no divisions among us. Strengthen our concern for one another so that if one part suffers, we all may suffer with it; and if one part is praised, all of us may share its happiness. We pray in Jesus'Êname. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Almighty God, Creator of us all and Creator of your Church as one Body with many parts, forgive us when we have treated some persons as if they did not matter, or when we have resented the praise and recognition given to some who have worked diligently for your kingdom. Pardon us for the sake of Jesus Christ, and create a right spirit within us that we may show the world we are one Body. Amen.

O God, you have blessed us with many and diverse gifts. Use us and these offerings, we pray, to bear witness to the world of the unity of your Church. Amen.

Gospel Lesson: Luke 4:14-21
Theme: Jesus Announces His Ministry
Call To Worship
Leader: As the Body of Christ on earth we are called to carry on his ministry.
People: Yes, we are chosen to bring Good News to the poor.
Leader: He has also sent us to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind.
People: We are to set free the oppressed and announce that the Lord will save his people!
Collect
Lord, keep us loyal as your representatives here on earth. In our worship together, enlighten us as to the full meaning of our responsibilities, and send us forth to be doers of the Word and not hearers only. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
O God, we have tried to proclaim your Word, but have often been rebuffed by the criticisms of the world. Forgive our weakness and by the power of your Spirit enable us to renew our efforts to carry out your ministry here on earth. Amen.

Lord, the poor, the oppressed, the blind, and those held captive cry out to be saved. We offer these gifts and our individual talents to be used by you in this ministry. Amen.
