Collect
Holy God, we stand in awe before you. You are the creator of the earth and all that is on it. You have made us in your own image, and we are overwhelmed by your care for us. As we come to give you thanks and praise, we pray that you will open our hearts and minds that we may hear you speak to us, and make your will known to us. We pray in the name of your dear Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
O God, how many times have you tried to make your will known to us, and we have refused to listen? May this time be different as we open our minds and hearts to you. Speak, Lord, for we your servants are listening. Amen.
Offertory Prayer
Merciful God, we pray for the masses of people everywhere who have never heard of your love. Use these gifts, we pray, to speak to them through your Church. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Theme: We Have This Hope
Call To Worship
Leader: When we call upon the Lord, he answers us.
People: Our God is a God who forgives even though we are punished for our sins.
Leader: Praise the Lord our God, and worship him.
People: The Lord our God is holy. Amen.
Collect
Almighty God, our Father, we give you thanks for the gift of your Son, Jesus Christ. By his life, death, and resurrection he has removed the veil that kept us from really knowing you, and given us the promise and hope of eternal life with you. Keep us ever mindful that we live in your sight, and through your Holy Spirit may we try to commend ourselves to everyone's good conscience, that through us they may come to know you. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Eternal God, we know that you have given each of us work to do for your kingdom, but when we lose sight of our responsibility and fail to carry out the task assigned to us we become discouraged. By your Spirit, transform us that we may put aside all shameful deeds, and commit ourselves once more so to live that we may reflect the glory of our Lord. Amen.
Offertory Prayer
Lord, we know that you have freed us from being slaves to the Law, but increase our understanding that now we are committed to use all that we have and are in keeping with your will. In that spirit we return a portion of our goods to be used through your Church for the glory of God. Amen.

Call To Worship
Leader: May this time of worship be for each of us a mountaintop experience in which we behold the glory of the Lord.
People: Come into my heart, Lord Jesus. Come in today; come in to stay.
Leader: Remember, when we come down from the mountain the world and all its problems await us.
People: May we be so inspired and strengthened by this worship experience that we will go from this place to serve our Lord by ministering to his people. Amen.
Collect
Lord Jesus, like those disciples who went with you to the moun-taintop, we wish we could dwell with you in the euphoria of this experience forever. May we so use this time together that we renew our faith that you are with us wherever we go, and become so filled with your Holy Spirit that everywhere we go people will know we have been with the Lord. Amen.

O God, when we should be praying, our minds and spirits are often sleeping. We know that when this happens we are out of touch with you and cannot hear you speaking to us. Keep us alert at all times, O Lord, that we may be led by you in the way you would have us go. Amen.
