One of the problems inherent in visiting those in need of some sort, is knowing when to step back and when to step forward. This is probably less difficult if a professional organisation like Cruse (the bereavement counsellors) are involved, because they will have fairly strict guidelines which must be followed by their visitors and their clients. But things aren't quite so clear cut with church visiting.
