The Nature Of Temptation

I've never been very clear about the difference between temptation and sin. Probably because I never seem to see temptation. It's only when I look back that I become aware how wrongly things have developed, how I've drifted off the path. But I almost never see it coming. If I could identify temptation, I'd at least have the chance of avoiding the subsequent sin. As it is, I so often find myself floundering in the mire without having very much idea of how it's happened.
