Fishing is an extremely dangerous occupation. People die all the time in accidents, storms, and other mishaps. There are communities where fishing is the main occupation that has been devastated by the loss of life of their brothers and sisters. One old fisherman once told me a story about fishing in Alaska. They had had a tremendous catch of fish, much like that experienced by the disciples in this text. It was so great, that the fish were pressing against the sides of the boat in the hold. While they were heading back to port, a terrific storm came up. They were afraid they would go down.
