Prayer is at the heart of our faith. No wonder they called that prayer Jesus gave his first disciples the model prayer. Christ, as our model, teaches us through these powerful words how we are to pray. There are five petitions listed in Christ's prayer to his disciples: 1) give us; 2) forgive us; 3) help us to forgive; 4) lead us; and 5) deliver us (although Luke leaves out this fifth petition). He punctuated the prayer with a parable about a man who pounded on a neighbor's door after midnight.
