There's a story of Henry...

There's a story of Henry Ford, inventor of the automobile, that's strikingly similar to this tale of the unjust manager. It seems that Ford was visiting his family's ancestral village in Ireland. Two trustees of the local hospital found out he was there, and managed to get in to see him.
They talked Ford into giving the hospital $5,000 (this was the 1930s, so $5,000 was a great deal of money). The next morning, at breakfast, he opened his daily newspaper, to read the banner headline: "American Millionaire Gives $50,000 to Local Hospital."
