What is your net worth...

What is your net worth? Like the famous bucket Hank Williams sang about, does it have a hole in it? Has your net been caught in the world's weedy nettles before you even had a chance to cast it? Or, in all honesty, do you have to confess that the only net you think about is one aimed at by renowned round baller named Larry Byrd or Wilt Chamberlain?
Jesus has cast his net of love over an entire world. The hook, line, and sinker of our salvation is a cross and a Savior. It is our role as obedient disciples to share that good news with others. The great theologian, D. T. Niles, wrote, "Evangelism is one beggar telling another beggar where to find food."
Something is "fishy" if we don't share the Gospel with our friends and neighbors. Our challenge is to cast our nets into the world's ocean and bring, to the Lord of all life, new disciples eager to learn more about him.
I rejoice in the reality that Jesus wasn't at church the day he confronted Peter and the other fisherman with the Gospel. Now let us resolve to go fishing with him who is our Savior, Jesus Christ.
