CALL TO WORSHIP
Leader: Our help is in the name of the Lord.
People: Who made heaven and earth.
Leader: Grace, mercy, and peace to you from Christ who was and is and is to come.
People: And to you also.
Leader: Friends, we have come together to remember and celebrate the life of our sister/brother, _____________, who no longer lives among us, but whose spirit has returned to the Creator from whence it came. Her/his legacy of love fills our hearts and we honor her/him by the love we share. Our coming together is in celebration of what s/he meant to us. In this spirit, let us worship God together.

God of tender care, we gather to praise you for your servant ______________ whom you have called home. We come in thanksgiving for all s/he was, and for the memories that linger in our hearts. We feel the loss of her/his presence, but we are grateful that her/his soul is safe in your care.
Dispel the grief and dry any lingering tears, so that we may rejoice in the knowledge that s/he is at home with you. Grant also that we may follow her/his example and honor you as our Lord and Savior. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.
