Pastoral Prayers For All Seasons
Sometimes words fail us, O Holy One. We want to speak from our hearts and minds, but what comes forth is drivel -- tired old cliches -- or worse yet, nothing at all.
We look at our son, our daughter, sitting across the room and we think how much we love them. But we back away from speaking our love for fear we'll embarrass them or ourselves. So we say something a lot safer, or say nothing at all and then feel bad about our cowardice.
